Alexander Technique

I have been a full time teacher of the Alexander Technique since 1979. My lessons are one to one and last about 40 minutes. I teach anyone from age 11 or 12 onwards. One of my best pupils was 81! Over the years, I have taught musicians, dancers, actors, riders, runners, athletes, deskworkers, computer operators, and people with bad backs of every description.

Campaign for Better Seating

In this seat of ancient learning, more recently known as Silicon Fen, sitting occupies most people most of the time. In my teaching practice I have seen the consequences of this, and have become fascinated by the role of the chair in the deterioration of use. I started the Campaign for Better Seating in order to draw attention to, and disseminate information on the importance of good chairs and seats.

Pilates

My interest in back problems, and in fitness as an aspect of health, eventually led me to Pilates. Body Control Pilates is more accessible to the average person than classical Pilates, and is suitable for people of any age and physical condition. Pilates and the Alexander Technique complement each other very well. I teach Pilates one to one.
