Alexander reading "The Nature of Disease up to Date" taken at his home at Ashley Place. The portrait was made in 1949 for his 80th birthday. In december 1947. Alexander suffered a stroke which partially paralized his left side. He used his Technique to recover fully from the stroke and the photo illustrates stages in his recovery.
